2021 has been another busy and exciting year for our team at Spiffy, which has expanded with the addition of our first five franchise partners. Beyond bringing our passion for mobile car care to more people in the United States, we’ve looked to take our Spiffy Green dedication to eco-friendly practices to the next level.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Green Places to offset and reduce our carbon emissions!

Green Places is a local startup here in Raleigh, North Carolina that works with small- and mid-sized businesses to understand their carbon footprint and properly invest in green projects to offset their impact on the environment. They were recently featured in WRAL TechWire in early July 2021 after raising nearly $1 million from investors. Among the Triangle-area entrepreneurs to invest was our CEO, Scot Wingo.

“We’ve put significant effort into being as green as possible with our services, while our sights remained set on eventually becoming carbon neutral. Now that we’ve hit that point, we’re able to look beyond and put our collective energy towards becoming a carbon positive company,” said Scot Wingo, Spiffy CEO.

With Spiffy, Green Places started the process by helping us to calculate our total carbon footprint with research from UC Berkeley’s Cool Climate project. From there, we were able to dig into carbon capturing projects that meet the guidelines of the International Carbon Reduction & Offset Alliance. These include funding solar panel manufacturing, wind farm construction, and the growth and ongoing protection of forests and biodiversity.

As we continue to grow, we're looking forward to becoming a leader in not only a better car care experience, but building a company with sustainability as its top priority as well.
