What Can I Expect as a Spiffy Technician?

Technician

We’ve been fortunate to continue our expansion across the country despite a global pandemic. With new cities being opened for business, we’ve found ourselves in need of more hardworking technicians to fill our ranks.

Whether you have experience or are looking to jump into the automotive industry for the first time, Spiffy has the benefits and opportunities to help you reach new career heights.

What are the Benefits?

Every technician has a starting hourly wage of $15/hour, which is paid out weekly. In addition to the hourly rate, employees earn 100% of all tips from customers. We also provide revenue-based bonuses, which can be added to your wages each day. Once you arrive at the warehouse, you drive a Spiffy van so you’re not putting miles on your personal vehicle or using your own gas. And, paid vacation is part of the deal, too.

We offer subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance for every Technician. Whether you have insurance or not, our employer-matched health benefits are meant to simplify your monthly budget with lowered costs and potential coverage expansion.

As a part of our team, you’ll have consistent access to company-paid personal protection equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, eye protection, shoe covers, and full coveralls when needed. We are on the front lines, destroying COVID-19 in vehicles and facilities, and are determined to protect you while you’re doing it.

After you’ve worked with Spiffy for one-year, you will be eligible for stock options. The hard work you invest today could really pay off as the company scales.

What are the Requirements?

The most straightforward requirement is a valid U.S. driver’s license. Since every technician is assigned to a Spiffy van, we don’t consider any applicants without one. A flexible work schedule is also a high priority. Our goal is to help technicians hit 30 - 40 hours a week, and company-wide flexibility helps with shifts in demand and weather. To achieve this, we require employees to inform management of schedule conflicts with at least two week’s notice.

The top factors for long-term success have been a strong sense of independence and a high energy level. Technicians with the highest “power scores” thrive working alone outdoors, following proven checklists for consistent 5-star services.

What Kind of Opportunities Can I Expect?

Once you join our team, you’ll undergo paid classroom and field training before going out in the field on your own. While we started as a car wash and detail company, we’re continuing to add more services for our customers across the country - including oil change, tire replacement, and disinfection. If you are interested in a career in automotive work, we hope to provide an entry-level environment that can act as a stepping stone and add value to your resume.

We’re also beginning to expand our Franchising program across the country. In a perfect world, the best franchise owners would start as Spiffy Technicians. By working through our company’s chain of command, you’ll see the big picture needed to take on the business yourself.

We won’t sugar coat it: our work is dirty and often at odds with the weather. We’ve seen near-perfect temperatures in the same week as a heatwave and downpour. Where the weather is continually changing, we strive to be consistent.
