What is a Franchise Discovery Day?
Spiffy Discovery Days provide our franchise prospects with an inside look at how we run our operation and offer a chance to meet our executive team.
We strive to be an open book with prospective franchisees. Our primary goal is to have every attendee leave a Discovery Day with all the information they need before making the final decision on whether they’ll officially become a Spiffy franchise owner.
For our current franchisees, Discovery Day was the perfect place to get that much-needed closer look before signing on as owners. “I found value in the live demonstrations, even more so in the direct access to the leadership at Spiffy,” said Rick Crook, franchise owner in Wilmington, Delaware. “Seeing the business in action was great and being able to have a Q&A with Scot, Karl, and Mike was invaluable.”
In short, it’s a jam-packed day from start to finish. But if you’re wondering what to expect, here’s a sneak peek at our typical schedule.
Learning More about Spiffy, from the Top Down
The morning starts with breakfast and orientation led by our President and Co-Founder, Karl Murphy. After that, we head outside for a service demonstration. Attendees have a chance to see how we do preventative maintenance, tire, and wash/detail services, in addition to a tour of the interior of the trucks, which shows how we’ve structured our vans to optimize efficiency.
Next, we head back inside for a company update from our CEO, Scot Wingo. This segment is a great opportunity for prospects to hear about Spiffy’s history and our vision for the future, straight from the top. Because we strive to keep Discovery Days relatively small, this provides attendees with a chance to talk directly with Scot and ask any questions about the company’s future and why franchising with Spiffy is worth the investment.
After that, you’ll hear from Mike Tolzman, our VP of Operations, on everything from employee training and warehouse planning to van upfitting and much more. We’ve found that this is an essential step for potential owners in evaluating the franchise opportunity. It offers a sense of what it takes to launch a Spiffy franchise, how to maintain it and grow revenue, and ultimately make sure their business is a success.
Exploring the Lines of Business and Corporate Support
Then, it’s time for lunch! Karl rejoins us alongside Garrison Ramoso and Zach Zeller, who lead our Fleet Sales team. Potential owners have a chance to hear about our national account sales strategy and gain a better understanding of what opportunities await in their local market with our existing fleet accounts.
The afternoon consists of sessions with our VP of Marketing, Grayson Leverenz; our Head of Customer Care, Maggie Pinner; and our CTO, Ryan Eade. These conversations offer valuable insights into how Spiffy supports our franchisees with their integrated marketing efforts, customer care, and software/hardware needs.
From there, we head down the street to our warehouse, which provides franchise prospects with insight on the equipment they’ll need, the ideal warehouse layout, and a general “How To” on setting up an efficient operation. Finally, it’s back to HQ for a Q+A session with Scot and Karl. This time serves as one last chance for attendees to pick the brains of our team’s leaders in person and ask any questions before heading home.
It’s a full day, and we love having the chance to give our prospects this level of access before making their decision. We’re confident that these events result in getting future franchise owners excited about their mobile car care business.
So far, we haven’t been disappointed.
